"Left In Charge"

Childs Play Jack Russell Terriers pays tribute to those beloved terriers which were our foundation, the cornerstone of our breeding program, and contributed so much to establish our kennel and have added immeasurable joy to our lives. Though Angus and Ben are no longer with us, they live on not only in our hearts but also in their downline offspring here in the United States and also spread literally around the world in different countries such as Sweden, Belgium, and down south in Ecuador.

April 1989 - February 2003
Willowall Angus (Blencathra Muta x Shotley Pentaginous) was bred by Donna Maloney. This 13", broken coated, tan and white dog was whelped on April 7, 1989. His records and achievements speak for themselves. Angus is a multiple UKC winner, ARBA winner, and a JRTAA Champion. Unfortunately, AKC recognition for the Jack Russell came too late for him or he would doubtless be a Champion in that venue also. Angus built a legacy that any discriminating breeder would be proud of. He has two daughters that are Champions including our 'Buffy', a Champion son and at least one granddaughter that is a Champion. He has stamped his type, his wonderful disposition and genetic soundness on his progeny.
Terrier Turf Calypso (Terrier Turfs Menace x Farmcliff Bear)   came from Kay Richards' kennel and her dam is our Ben's litter sister. Shown only lightly, Calypso took the Mighty Match in Raleigh, NC by storm, winning Best-of-Breed, and then winning the Terrier Group. Calypso has the substance rarely found in a bitch that has this small and flexible chest. Calypso is the dam of our Buffy and truly our foundation bitch.
Alabiss Sassy Sonia (Alabiss The Who x Blackbriar Aint Mis Behavin)   came from long-time breeder and judge, Patty Lapinski in Florida. We met Sonia when she was 3 months old and fell in love with her then and when she was 6 months old, she came to live with us as Patty disbanded her kennel. At only 12", Sonia has a lovely, long, graceful neck, a well laid back shoulder, a tiny, flexible chest and an attitude that makes her a joy to own. Her daughters, Ch Childs Play Lilliebobs Gal, owned by Susan Reaney - Emerald Fox Kennel, carries on her blood and her fun-loving ways.
Ch. Farmcliff Ben of Childs Play (White Gate Johnny x Abby)  is very much the "classic" type of Jack Russell Terrier with the beard and eyebrows that give him the look of a "Bristol Merchant". He has the brains, the will, the temperament and the determination to hunt all, which is a rare find indeed in today's terriers. He is truly worthy of the title, "Demon of the Dens". He taught us what a working terrier was all about and has ensured that we would never own another terrier that didn't work, show, play, and then sleep in our bed at night, all the while being the true gentleman he is.
