Radagast Luna, who we call Greta, is our own breeding on one side of her pedigree through our Ch. Falling Branch Bold As Brass, but is Swedish breeding from Berit Burmeister-Lindgren's Kennel Radagast on her dam's side of the pedigree. Greta was bred (using frozen semen) and born in Sweden and then shipped to us at about 4 months of age. Thank you so much to Berit for entrusting this beautiful young bitch to us.

Berit has been breeding Parson Russell Terriers for 15 years now focusing mainly on the working aspect of this breed while still attending some shows and getting their conformation championships along the way. She is one of the most humble and sweet people I have ever met despite her rather excellent ability to hunt and train Parson Russell Terriers for fox bolting, badger baying and blood tracking. Berit is the Swedish Kennel Club's Top Breeder for 2005 and 2006, additionally in 2005 she received the Swedish Kennel Clubs Working Breeder Award. In 2006 Berit's Radagast Ancalime (Greta's Grandmother) received the Swedish Kennels Club's Breeding Award for having produced seven (7) offspring who have been qualified for underground hunting. This is quite an honor as you can see from the paragraph written below.

"On the basis of the Swedish Kennel Club's record of working merits from seven of her 13 offspring, J SJ(gs) SUCh Rg Ancalime is recognized to have passed on good traits and to be of great importance for the breeding of dual-purpose Parson Russell Terriers. The seven offspring (Rg Yavanna, Yavannamir, Bri, Bilbo, Loa , Lond and Luna) who form the basis of the award are all qualified for underground hunting. Kajsa turns 10 in August and is still, in the highest degree, an appreciated earth worker who just loves to go down under."

We were lucky enough to be in Sweden and watch Greta's mother, Radagast Luna, work the last badger she needed for her badger baying Championship. The badger is a truly formidable quarry and it takes a smart dog to work a badger without getting hurt. That Luna inherited her mother Kajsa's intelligence is in no doubt. Luna has worked fox as well and has accounted for as many fox as most of the Parson's in Sweden. What a wonderful working Parson Russell Terrier she is! Congratulations to Berit for having bred such a great dog.

Greta is a truly beautiful young bitch with loads of attitude. She reminds us of our Brass so much yet I know from spending two weeks in Sweden that she is also like her mother, Radagast Luna, in temperament. True to her bloodlines she has a wonderful shoulder and nice effortless movement. Her chest is as tiny as any I have spanned, is correctly shaped and easily compressible.

Until Greta grows up some and matures we will be working with her in Tracking to continue the working aspect of this breed that is on both sides of her pedigree. Again, many thanks to Berit for sending us our Greta!
